VIBRATION STIMULATION:
VIBRAMOOV

General overview

Resulting from 30 years of scientific and clinical research, Vibramoov™ uses Functional Proprioceptive Stimulations (FPS) to activate the nervous system with sensory information identical to that of natural movement.

Developed by Technoconcept and the CNRS of Grenoble, Vibramoov uses Functional Proprioceptive Stimulations (FPS) to activate the nervous system with sensory information identical to that of natural movement. The objective is to create a sensory-motor illusion: the patient, even paralyzed, feels the movements of the body even though its limbs are motionless.

Main objectives of the method

This new technology of transcutaneous vibrations has the clear objective of creating a sensory-motor illusion. The patient, even paralyzed, feels the movements of the body even though its limbs are motionless.

It speeds up rehabilitation work, aims to coordinate motor skills and associated neuro-sensory information.

Specificities of the method

It is mainly practiced in rehabilitation centres, given its price.

Vibramoov finds its place upstream of a walking rehabilitation program.

The patient is equipped with sensors on his lower or upper limbs. Sitting or standing, he is placed in front of a screen that shows him the exercises he will follow, but also to visualize at the same time the walking movement at the same time as he feels it physically. Even if the limbs remain immobile, the vibration transmits the "sensation" of movement to the brain.

Who is this method for ?

This device is intended for people with neurological conditions related to medical or traumatic brain injuries: stroke, cerebral palsy (hemiplegia, hemiplegia, hemiparesis...), sclerosis, head injury or spinal cord injury.

What parents say about it

"It is still early to determine what the long-term effects are, but psychologically, feeling active for a patient with hemiplegia is great for morale and helps them move in the right direction.

Scientifi references

"Non-invasive brain stimulation and neuromuscular vibrations are promising neuromodulatory therapeutic approaches to neglect. Further controlled and randomized studies are needed to corroborate their effectiveness as separate and combined techniques. »

Vibramoov is now the subject of a protocol currently being finalised in Normandy, which has already been tested on about twenty patients. The first quantified results are expected within 24 months.

"The Functional Proprioceptive Stimulations (FPS) it generates maintain the memory of movement. By stimulating the nervous system with sensory messages identical to those of natural movements, we hope to stimulate motor recovery as suggested by the latest studies on brain plasticity," explains Dr. Anne Peskine, a physical and rehabilitation medicine specialist at Normandy de Granville.
