Panorama of therapeutic modalities for children with special needs
This work is an attempt to make an international panorama of therapeutic modalities for children with special needs.
These are approaches or technologies to help atypical children to learn
by working on the biochemical, sensory, body, motor, emotional, behavioral, cognitive ...
This panorama is voluntarily "between science and experience",
its vocation is to aggregate sources:
# 1 Modalities already validated by scientific studies
# 2 Modalities experienced with positive feedbacks from many families
(shared experiences of families, not yet assessed by studies)
# 3 Modalities used in specialized centers abroad or latest technologies
MAIN PREAMBULE
Preamble # 1: this panorama is not intended to promote or condone the following methods
Preamble # 2: this panorama should not encourage parents to try all these methods or over-expose their children to too many approaches, let alone without coordination, which could have a damaging effect if the approaches do not go in the same direction for the child
Preamble # 3: Our simple goal is to enable families to save time in their information quest, by gathering the research efforts of different parents (it is not a medical or research team work)
Preamble # 4: it is only a starting point in a work of qualification of these methods
Preamble # 5: The studies listed are a first step, in order to help parents on their decision
But to date, no study can conclude on the most successful modalities
